To get free from debt , you've got to take it!

“I want it!” my daughter would yell. So I tell her, “Sure, you can have it, after you clean your room.” She lowers her head and walks away, sulking and not getting what she wanted.

The truth is, we do this as adults all of the time, just in a different context.

I’ve heard many times, someone commenting about their low paycheck or the unending mass of bills they have to pay every day; and rightly so! However, when told that to get what they want, they need to “clean their room,” they lower their head and walk away.

If you really want to be debt-free and have money in the bank to pay your bills without fear of a bounced check, then maybe it’s time to actually “clean your room.” Seriously! I mean, how bad do you want it?

The people who achieve their dreams don’t do so because they were lucky (well most anyway), they do so because they want that dream bad enough that they are willing to do whatever it takes to get it, including being free from debt.

In the movie, “Glory Road,” coach Don Haskins sums this up nicely:
"It's not about talent, it's about heart. It's about who can go out there and play the hardest. They're not going to give us anything, so you've got to go out there and you've got to take it!"
