Getting out of debt is like eating chocolate?
My kids have been spending the last week and a half consuming chocolate from one of those Advent calendars. Each day, they open a "window" and get a treat as they count down the days to Christmas.
So that got me thinking. They would never sit down and each 25 days worth of chocolate in one sitting (at least I wouldn't allow it). They eat the stash slowly, in bite-size pieces over time. That's kind of like getting out of debt, isn't it?
I mean, you look at 25 days of chocolate and go, "no way, that's too much, I can't eat all that!" Well, actually you can; just a little at a time.
When you're getting out of debt, or trying to anyway, it's easy to get overwhelmed to the point of just going, "no way, there's too much, I can't pay down all that!" Well, actually you can; just a little at a time.
Do nothing, and you'll be right here in the exact same place one year from now. Start chipping away at your debt in bit-size pieces and by this time next year, that massive amount of debt won't look so big.
Getting out of debt might not be as sweet as chocolate...right now. But when you are debt free, it is sweet indeed!
