Make your Internet access pay for itself
When I finally got high-speed Internet access, I was dreading a bill 5 times the size of my ultra-cheap dial-up service. But you know what? The money I save by using the Internet has often paid for this cost increase.
With high-speed access, I can cover a lot more ground in the same amount of time. This means that I can research prices for things much quicker. For example, I needed to buy a text book for a class I was taking but the college book store wanted $150 for it.
After a few minutes checking around the web, I found that same book for $75. Sure it was used, but it was in good condition, came with the special online subscription and still contained the CD that accompanied it.
That savings alone paid for a month and a half of my Internet access. You can do this with just about anything you buy. Now if you don't feel comfortable not buying online, that's OK. Most retail stores have online store fronts now that make it easy to compare prices between competitors in order to get the best deal. If you are not doing this already, you HAVE to start.
Now, saving on purchases is only half of the picture though. Stay tuned because tomorrow, I'll share with you another powerful way you can leverage your Internet access to MORE than pay for itself.
