Life Interrupted: Debt Reduction Reality

A lot of you out there have told me over the years just how much you wish you could get out of debt but the thing is, actually making it happen brings with it the reality that it's just a lot longer and a more challenging process than you first realized.

In fact, getting out of debt is a serious life interruption isn't it? It requires cutting back on many of the little things you might enjoy every day. It means saving, adjusting your spending, managing your finances and increasing the payment amounts to credit cards.

All of this takes effort and quite honestly, many throw in the towel after a while because it is such a major interruption.

But I like to think of getting out of debt as a life change, not an interruption - an opportunity to do something new and explore a new way of living. This is just a change in mental attitude, but it's one that will produce a wonderful peace of mind that just wouldn't be there otherwise.

Your debt reduction efforts are without a doubt a serious interruption to your current way of life, but they are also a transition to a new life, one filled with the excitement and possibilities of what will be once you are debt-free.

Leave the old life behind, press on to a new one, and the rewards will come in many different forms, much sooner than you think.
